Year 7 Radio Programs

I have just started teaching this unit again Collaboration: When people work together, they can achieve a common goal" and my LA unit focuses on creating a radio program, developing listening and speaking skills and if I dare say writing skills. Int he last few weeks we have listened to and analysed news reports, talk back radio with Dr Karl Triple J and his Great Moments in Science as well as studying the radio play, " The Hitchhiker" . This will lead up to a project where the students make a radio station. Anyway, I the students asked to hear an example form previous years and here is one of them. I was surprised a how good it sounded. This is forma. few years ago.

I love teaching and doing this project. It provides opportunities for students to focus on different purposes for writing as well as focus on something they want to do, work with others, play different roles and take different responsibilities. At the end of the project the students evaluate individually how they worked and how their group worked.
