Kerensa Johnston is a passionate and creative educator with over 25 years of experience teaching, working, and training in schools and communities across Indonesia, as well as internationally in the UK, India, Hong Kong, and Australia. She has recently completed her Master of Teaching with Curtin University, including her final practicum at Hedland Senior High School and Ballajura Community College in Western Australia.

 

Her teaching experience spans ESL (young learners, Cambridge PET, FCE, IELTS, TOEFL), a range of international curricula including IB, IMYC, and Indonesian curriculum, as well as mainstream Literature and Drama. She is particularly passionate about supporting students with literacy and numeracy development, equipping them with the skills to achieve their goals and improve learning outcomes.

Kerensa brings a wealth of experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and with a wide range of learning needs. She is also a respected playwright, performer, and director in Indonesia, and before settling there, she trained with theatre practitioners and masters in Europe and Asia, and toured schools with Queensland Arts Council and Nexus Arts in Australia.

She is now in Australia and hoping to live and teach in a remote community.
