IMYC News Letters

The newsletters for me  were important to me on many different levels - they were  a means of myself processing the many great things that were happening in the school, demonstrating accountability to management and helping them understand what IMYC was  and also  develop a greater appreciation  of the work of teachers;  to help  doubters ( be it students or teachers - see the value of  the IMYC curriculum in action);  to provide  an  point of departure for further discussion at home between parents and students;. I spent a lot of time and derived a lot of pleasure from  making an effort to understand what was happening in the school, doing extra research, gathering  students work and  writing the newsletters. My goal was to make everyone look good., one because I believe people deserve to feel good and be successful; and that success is built on success. Naturally, as a language arts teachers I believe in showing not telling. A school will look good through the students and their work., through the reactions of parents and their sense of belonging ( & the students)  to the school community. The newsletters for me were  something I was passionate about. I was never asked to do them  as part of my job description - it  was born or my strong belief in my school and the IMYC. I  hope I can bring that belief to your school. Here are some highlights from the newsletters over the  years. If you wish to download, scroll the the bottom of this page.
